This resource will help stimulate discussion about global learning in secondary schools. It has been written in the context of the 2008 KS3 curriculum ~ an opportunity to think afresh about what is on offer to learners in terms of understanding the global context that they are growing up in.
The book takes an ‘enabling’ approach, through individual subjects and cross-curricular approaches, offering for discussion ‘seven enabling steps…to a global learning school’. It argues for the need for schools to be clear about their own visions and values, in order to build a strategic steer through the many competing external agendas whilst maintaining a cohesive and effective curriculum.
The book draws on the experiences of a range of creative curriculum projects shares case studies, and many practical activities.
The core ideas and arguments presented in the book are backed up by extensive support on this website. Click here for publication support.
