Core Group
Tide~ is seeking a core group to engage in its current “Cities as a lens to the world” project. The core group should draw on a range of educational backgrounds, subject areas, and experience [personal and professional].
We seek members who are interested in cities as a learning opportunity and in the possibilities for creative educational responses offered by the new curriculum. The core group should represent a balance of subject areas to maximise the cross-curricula exchange of ideas and perspectives. We are especially keen to attract those with a lead role [or aspiring to a lead role] in:
Geography Citizenship History English Media Studies Members of the core group will be asked to:
- Bring their specific subject/role perspective to the debates and help identify areas of commonality and opportunities for collaboration;
- Meet 4 times over the course of the spring and summer terms 2008 and autumn term 2009;
- Participate, where possible, in the creative sessions;
- Advise on the cities input to the Tide~ Secondary Global Learning conference [28 June 2008];
- Make use of draft materials and ideas from the project and provide feedback.
In particular we seek creativity about how best to share the learning that takes place in the cities initiative. Where does the new curriculum fit in?
If you are interested in the opportunities offered by the core group and would like to be considered as a member then please contact Rob Bowden at Tide~.
